Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Voxwave LLC (“Voxwave,” “we,” “us”), operator of text2voice.ai (the “Service”), collects, uses, and shares information about you. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider Clerk collects your email address and any name or profile details you provide.
  • Content you provide. The text you submit for conversion (“Input”) and the audio the Service generates (“Output”), along with related settings. This includes text extracted from any file or photo you upload; we process the upload to read its text and do not keep the original file.
  • Voice recordings (dictation). If you use the microphone to dictate, the audio of that take is sent to our transcription provider, turned into text, and discarded. Recordings are never stored by us and never attached to your account — only the text they produce, which then becomes Input like anything else you type.
  • Drafts.So you don’t lose your work, the Service automatically saves what you have typed in the composer before you convert it, and restores it when you return. A draft is stored to your account, visible only to you, and is replaced each time you type. It is deleted as soon as you convert it, start a new conversion, or clear the composer.
  • Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we receive limited billing metadata (such as the transaction result and amount) needed to fulfill your order.
  • Usage & device data. We collect log and technical data such as IP address, browser type, and request activity, used for security, abuse prevention, rate limiting, and improving the Service.
  • Cookies. We use cookies that are necessary for authentication and session management (set by Clerk). We do not use them to sell your data.

2. How we use information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Service and generate your audio;
  • To authenticate you and maintain your account and Credit balance;
  • To process payments and provide receipts and support;
  • To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and secure the Service; and
  • To comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing of your text

To generate audio, the text you submit is transmitted to our AI voice providers, OpenAI and Fish Audio, which process it to synthesize speech. If you dictate, the recorded audio is transmitted to OpenAI to be transcribed into text. Your use of the Service is therefore also subject to their data-handling practices. Do not submit sensitive personal information you would not want processed by these providers.

4. How we share information (sub-processors)

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the Service, under appropriate contractual protections:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management;
  • Stripe — payment processing;
  • OpenAI and Fish Audio — text-to-speech generation; OpenAI additionally transcribes dictated audio into text;
  • Cloudflare (R2) — storage of generated audio;
  • Render — application hosting and database; and
  • our transactional email provider, for verification and account emails.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Voxwave, our users, or the public.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Your Input and Output are retained until you delete them or close your account, except where we must keep certain records (such as transaction records) to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations. You can delete individual conversions from within the app.

A draft is kept only while it is your current unfinished work. It is overwritten as you type and deleted when you convert it, start a new conversion, or clear the composer, so at most one draft exists per account at a time. Closing your account deletes it along with the rest of your content.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. If you are in the EEA or UK, these rights arise under the GDPR; if you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know and delete, and we do not sell your personal information. To exercise any right, contact us at the address below or delete your account.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers where required by law.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
